From Espresso Martinis garnished with fresh coffee beans to a more exotic Spanish Inquisition, mixologists have expanded up their cocktail menus to no longer just feature the once dominant Irish Coffee. “We are seeing a new twist on the traditional coffee drinks that have been available at restaurants and bars forever. “It was just a matter of time before mixologists started experimenting with creative coffee cocktails,” said Shawn Kelley, Distilled Spirits Council Director of Public Relations. Both hot and cold coffee cocktail creations are being mixed up for adult customers across the country. For those looking to warm their bones, one could try the Café Brûlot from the famous Brennan’s Restaurant in New Orleans. The Tiramisu cocktail, however, is more likely to appeal to those seeking a chilled drink. “Coffee cocktails have become quite popular,” said Bruno Venini, bartender at Grillfish Restaurant. “They’re great on their own or served with dessert.” Whatever your mood, you’re likely to find a bar or restaurant serving something delightful to satisfy your taste.
