In addition to these long time policies, Bob’s has worked with The Century Council since 2002 to further promote responsibility in the beverage alcohol industry. In 2002, Bob’s helped to promote The Century Council’s Point of Sale (POS) program. The POS program distributed materials such as ceiling danglers, tall posters, mini posters, cold case stickers, table tents and buttons that were used in retail locations to help prevent underage persons from purchasing alcohol, with messages such as If You've Never Done the Moonwalk, Prepare to be Carded. In 2004, Bob’s partnered with The Century Council again to promote the 65% Campaign. In addition to distributing the 65% Campaign materials in Bob’s retail locations, Bob’s hosted an event to promote the program with The Century Council, the Knoxville City Council, the Knoxville Police Department and others. The 65% Campaign is based on recent survey data stating that 65% of youth obtain the alcohol they drink from their family and friends. This program involves distributing materials that encourage parents to play a more active role in keeping alcohol out of the hands of teens. Bob’s commented that customers were appreciative to receive this information and that it made everyone including Bob’s staff more aware of parental responsibility.
